It is said in the article that handphone for kids will have tracking device, so that parents can track them. Other than that, parents are able to control who can call the handphone and to which number the phone could make out to. Kids can also call 911 for emergency.
There will be two big player entering this market. Disney will team with Sprint while Mattel will partner with Nokia to make a barbie phone.
This seems like a pretty good idea, other than the parents will need to pay more expenses and move exposure to radiowaves.
