What is wrong with Copy & Paste Blog

In reply to Chewxy:-

I know that a lot of you all got a say in this. But I think that Malaysian have a kiasu way of thinking. Why, they would rather go to some kuai lou website to check on their blogs even it is copy and paste contents. They just can’t afford to see another Malaysian trying to be succesful. Their thinking is like if I am not succesful, I am never going to let anyone arround get above me.

Famous gadget blog also copy and paste their information from another source:-

- http://www.engadget.com – Got it from readers and also other website as well
- http://www.slashdot.org – World famous Geeks news blogger, go check it out, see if they writes anything more than me?
- http://www.fark.com – Link to source with only one to line of words.

This will be my last ping. I need to remove the trackback from the trackback. I will blog for myself and my interest to compile my own technology news and information.

To Chewy: You are rude and you blog without any facts at all. I am married and I have a great life as a husdband at the age of 25. Why? because I love my wife. We are well educated (unlike you) and graduated from a University from United States. You can correct me if I am wrong, but you don’t insult me on your blog about something that is not true. Blogging is new to me. I started on April 2005. I would love to learn but would not take insult like that.

Copied from his website about my blog:

“Probably copying and pasting for the sake of adsense, and perhaps, the blogger can be able to show off to his girlfriends that he blogs for technology, in bid to make up for his lack of size somewhere between the legs.”

“Copy and paste. Completely no synthesis of information. My advice : blogging does not make your e-penis swell. Stop wanking”

The reason why I blog: I will be honest. I blog because I would like to attract users to my Malaysia Classifieds website at http://www.syiok.com and people says to blog about something that you are interested at.

Why do that?
- Technology is something I am good at and where I like to update myself.
- For SEO purposes, blogging daily would get me better ranking and I am testing and experimenting with the SEO thing.
- Trying to get users to my Classifieds page. ( I have been altering and thinkering for the best result on Search Engine and been succesful on MSN and Yahoo that is why I don’t mess around with my wordpress)

About Syiok.Com – Malaysia Classifieds
Do you guys know what is the benefit of all Malaysian using only ONE Malaysia Online Classifieds. It means that classifieds are free, effective and beneficial for all people. I know that my classifieds is good because each advertisement posted is listed as a different page on Google. Once spidered, you advertisements will actually be found on Google, MSN and Yahoo. I am counting and I think that I will be able to survive (not losing money) by doing a classifieds page and providing the service for FREE but running on advertisements. This will be a win win solution for all Malaysian.

Search Engine Result from some keyword people found my website [using statcounter]:
apartment to rent in penang
house for sale in usj
HOUSE FOR SALE AT BOTANIC KLANG

My experience with classifieds:
Craigslist.org – Before moving to San Francisco from Oklahoma, Me and my partner (now my wife) found our appartment even before going to the place it self. We did not bring much furniture and things because we drove there. When reaching there, we got some free furniture & monitor. Went there for 3 months and did not manage to survive because we are unemployed, therefore I sold my Car, Subwoofe & Spearkers using the same classifieds website. Giving out my hangers, monitors, all furniture that I bought and had then free, anything that is not worth bring back to Malaysia on Craigslist. Posted my address, and put the stuff in front of my house. A couple hours later, it is gone, ALL GONE. I even have this asian girl comming knocking on my doors asking if I have somemore hanggers. THIS IS WHAT I CALLED A COMMUNITY although I am only part of it for 3 months. Nothing is wasted in this online community. Broken 50″ TV are given away free, if you fix it, it’s yours. Even used boxes, and dirt. RECYCLE, REUSE or SELL your item rather than letting it rot in your store room.

Check the website itself, it earns money by charging companies to post jobs for $75, but I am trying a different way.

The Million Dollar Homepage

http://milliondollarhomepage.com/

This guy is just creative to be able to make such a homepage. Smart smart…wish I had this kind of idea.

An entrepreneurial young student in the UK has devised a simple way of raising the cash to pay for life through university without having to spend every weekend in Tesco????s stacking shelves.

Called the Million Dollar Homepage, the idea of the site is to sell 1,000,000 pixels for $1 each.

Visitors can buy pixels, which are available in 100-pixel ‘blocks’ (each measuring 10×10 pixels) and then display an image/ad/logo of their choice in the space they have purchased. Customers will also have the chance to link the image through to a website of their choice as long as its not obscene or offensive.

The pixels you buy will be displayed on the homepage permanently for the life of the site.

The creator, Alex Tew, is 21 years and old hopes to keep the site running for at least five years, but hopefully much longer with the ultimate goal of making it ??a kind of internet time capsule??.

Currently the site has sold over 52,300 pixels earning more than enough to put Pew through university.

The ministries of defence and information and communication approved a joint project worth 32.4 million dollars to develop the robot system by 2011.

Tentative designs released at a meeting of science ministers here showed three different types of robots that look like a sphinx without wings.

Equipped with six or eight wheels or legs, they would be capable of walking or running through rough terrain.

Armed with weapons and sensors, the robots could be put to combat missions or dangerous tasks such as detecting mines, the ministries said.

The ministries said they will also invest some 30 million dollars to develop surveillance sensor networks by 2010.

Just moved my hosting

I learn that moving hosting is pretty painless. I tought it would be much harder. But it takes a while for the nameserver to change.

Another thing is to make sure that your database is exported out and then upload to the new ones. If the name and password is changed, you will need to look for a config file which will include the password and username of the mySQL database. Change it to the new ones.

If your new host have a different username. You need to change the script path too. Each script (I think most, including Wordpress) will have one of its path in mySQL, only phpbb forum doesn’t have one.

Just login to phpmyadmin, then search for your old username, you should get like

/home/oldusername/domain/something.com/blog/

If you change you username, it should be different now.

This should be the same for DirectAdmin hosting company but I don’t know about cpanel.
