Yup, this is not a prank we are trying to play to our users. I have little to no sleep last night trying to get everything back in order. Thanks to Exabytes were very helpful, up until around 11am, this site is officially back up again.

Exabytes people were really helpful and they have people working even at 3am to help me out, that is quite impressive.

I have lost 5 days of post and some pictures in the transition to backup again. Sorry for the inconvenience caused.

Some idea on how you could win an Ipod

If you are desperate for an Ipod, here is some idea which you may definitely be able to do in order to join this contest.

You could either give out stuff for free, I mean useful stuff to the extent that it is not a pile of dust. But you are welcome to give out things like broken TV or radio. This the start of giving.

Other method is that you could sell / give out your old books. Those which are collecting dust in your store room. It should be the time to go.

Clothes would also be a good things to give out as you could earn some money selling them for a low price or you could give them to others who may ned them.

Do any of this and you stand a chance to win an ipod nano.

Better Malaysia Classifieds

We have added a Malaysia Property Forum to encourages more discussion. Even better, this forum will be a profit sharing forum (it may be the very first one in Malaysia), to reward people participating at our forum. The way the profit are shared is at post level. Whereby the adsense code will be taken by forum starter and replier at a percentage of impression.

Also, you notice that the advertisements banner is back. It is currently back at 125 x 125 (a little bigger compare to the previous banner ads), but it will appear more profesionally, as I have embeded into my template neatly. Although it appear in front page and category pages only, advertiser will still get tones of impression as we have increase in our user to about 5k pageviers a day. I am still selling it at the same price of RM2/day and minimum purchase would be 30 days.

Free Stuff

It seems that Malaysian are reluctant to give our their broken/useless stuff to others? Is this because they have donated all their old clothes to the tsunami victim? Even their broken TV?

This is what happen in US that inspired me to have this classifieds:-

Someone have a broken TV and do not plan to fix it, most probably he/she is planing for an upgrade to LCD TV. The will decide to give out the TV by posting at an online classifieds, and mention that maybe there is “no sound”. If you like to explore, or if your are a student who have some kind of similar project, you could make good use of it. The bonus is that if you could fix it, it is yours to keep.

Second Story

This happen to me, some new family just moved to California and obviously they moved with tones of cartons. When I was planing to come back to Malaysia, I just had to drive to their driveway to choose the good cartons so that it could withstand the sea freight. This is actually better than recycling, because you are basically reusing, no reprocessing.

Third Story

This also happened to me, when I left, I got a Free 19″ TV (old tv that is working) and some cartons. Finally, I gave out the TV, Hangers, Cupboard, Books, Some Boxes of Face Mask (I had them for SARS, :) ) and other small stuff. Within an hour everything was gone and one person actually knock my door asking for hangers because she just moved into town. It is just a brilliant method and I felt so much a community there.

I hope that Malaysian will be inspired by this to start letting others to reuse your goods because there is no point keeping something with you when it is not used at all. Post your free stuff here.
